San Francisco Chronicle

Here's a new illustration for today's book review in the San Francisco Chronicle (art directed by my friend and fellow illustrator, Shannon May).  The review was written by Terry Tempest Williams, and describes the beautiful and dreary landscapes of T. C. Boyle's San Miguel.

I like it how you don´t see the little plants until you look closer at the grassland.

Yes--sky, water and grass can be so difficult to paint convincingly, and you've done an incredible job. This is a gorgeous painting. x

Umm, this is gorgeous. The colors are very captivating, especially the black cut outs of the three women.
